Wade Spencer In Concert
Southern gospel music singer Wade Spencer from Perrysville, Ohio, will be in concert at Friendship Baptist Church on Sunday at 7 p.m. He is the oldest son of the original musical family, The Spencers, and travels throughout the eastern and mid-western states. He also makes trips to foreign countries for missions and to orphanages and prisons.
Friendship Church is located one-half mile south of McGee’s Crossroads, just off N.C. 50, on Greenleaf Road. A free-will offering will be received.

Holy Convocation 2009 Set
The Holy Convocation 2009 will be held tonight through Sunday at Heaven Bound Church of Christ Holy Temple Inc. No. 2. Service times are nightly at 7:30 and High Holy Worship at 11 a.m. Sunday. The theme will be “Man Said, ‘It Wouldn’t Be,’ But God Said, ‘It Shall Be!’”

Plates will be $7 and will contain chicken, potato salad, green beans, roll and dessert. Hot dogs will also be on sale. The proceeds will go to the church building fund.
PFWB Church Camp Meeting Starts July 26
The 2009 Camp Meeting of the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church will be held July 26-Aug. 2 at the PFWB Church Conference Tabernacle, 1107 Long Branch Road (next to Heritage Bible College), Dunn. Service times are Saturday and both Sundays at 6 p.m. and all other evenings at 7:30.

Norrington AME Zion Church will host a Prayer Breakfast And Day Conference July 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event will consist of sessions geared toward helping women meet personal and spiritual goals. Sessions will include “Living Single & Saved,” “Managing Your Own Business,” “Prayer & Spiritual Warfare,” “Financial Management,” “Overcoming Harmful Addictions,” “Beauty Tips & Pampering,” “Dress for Success,” and an onsite nurse pracitioner will answer questions on health and nutrition. All sessions are free and open to the public.

Celebration Set For Arvetra Jones
The members of Dunn Revival Center Church will celebrate the Rev. Arvetra Jones Sr.’s birthday July 14-19. There will be different speakers each night. Speakers will be Evangelist Anna Y. Murchison of Garner on Tuesday and Wednesday nights; Evangelist Jackie McNeill of Dunn on Thursday night; Pastor Margaret M. Coats COG To Celebrate Worker Appreciation Day
Sunday, beginning in the 10:45 morning worship, Coats Church of God at 223 S. Isabella St. in Coats will celebrate Worker Appreciation Sunday. Pastor Fedrick Hollis said his church is thoughtful and generous in their appreciation of their pastor, and that he and his wife, Deborah, wish to show appreciation for their diligent and devoted members. Faith Covenant To Hold Homecoming
Faith Covenant Family Church will observe its sixth homecoming Sunday. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Adoration Quartet, a North Carolina southern gospel group. Adoration has been singing since 2002. Following the morning message, lunch will be served in the church fellowship hall. There will be no Sunday night services. The pastors are Joe and Tammy Ammons.
