Speaker Bonnie Clark of Aberdeen will speak on ‘The Power of Forgiveness,’ and Shane Smith of 4 Seasons Florist - Flowers from the Heart, will give the feature. Coats Church of God recently purchased and installed a large high-definition TV for the fellowship hall. Pastor Hollis Fedrick says the technology has already been a great blessing to the church children and teens.

Red Hill PFWB Church Senior Saints met Jan. 10 at the church fellowship hall. Leader Jackie McLeod welcomed everyone. Prayer requests were given followed by prayer.

Shirley Blue
Pastors Stanley and June Douglas and the Covenant Partners of New Vision of Christ Christian Center, 608 Spring Branch Road, Dunn, announce the introductory sermon of Missionary Shirley Leake Blue, right, on Sunday at 6 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Ms. Blue is a native of Dunn. She has two children, Jonathan and Destyni. She is the daughter of Vann Leake of Dunn and the late Ernest Ray Elliott. Ms. Blue is employed with Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. She is one of the founding members of New Vision.

Elder Thornton
Dunn United Christian Church Youth Movement will observe its annual celebration Sunday at 6 p.m. The event will be held at Trinity AME Zion Church, 700 E. Johnson St., Dunn. The guest speaker will be Elder Eric L. Thornton, right, of Dunn. The topic will be ‘Yes We Can, One Child At A Time.’
Youth from area churches — including St. Stephens, Harnett Chapel, Evening Star and Dunn Chapel — will take part in the service. The Youth Movement was founded in 1952 and continues to give scholarships to high school graduates. The public is invited to attend. The pastor at Trinity AMEZ is the Rev. Edward Hill.

The Dixie Melody Boys will be featured at the Agri Civic Center in Clinton on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. The Dixie Melody Boys will share their unique, four-part harmony.

Since organizing more than four decades ago, The Dixie Melody Boys have enjoyed much success, including a Grammy nomination and numerous Fan Award nominations from The Singing News Magazine. Hit releases include “I’ll Be Living That Way,” “I Won’t Compromise,” “Welcome Home,” “Antioch Church Choir” and “I’m One Of Them.” The group leader, Ed O’Neal, a 45-year Gospel Music veteran, was inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 2004.
