Church Of God Of N.C.Permanently Splits With Church Of God

In 1991, the Church of God of North Carolina, based out of Dunn, split from the Church of God of Prophecy. The intention of the church at the time, according to Church of God of North Carolina International Overseer the Rev. Weekly Church News Part 1

Chicken Pastry Meal Saturday
A chicken pastry meal, including green beans, candied yams, hushpuppies, dessert and drink, will be sponsored by the Ethel Tart Circle of Smyra OFWB Church in the Meadow community on Saturday.
The eat-in or take-out meal will begin at 5 p.m. at a cost of $6 per person over 12 years old and $3 under 12.
An auction is scheduled at 7 p.m. to include a hand-quilted king-size quilt made by the ladies of the church. Items for sale include canned goods, cakes, pies and Christmas items.

Pastor Anniversary Celebration Set
The congregation of Harnett Chapel OFWB Church in Dunn will celebrate the anniversary of their pastor, Eldress Margaret Wilson on Sunday. Morning service will be at 11 a.m. with Evangelist Simone Parker, assistant pastor of Mingo Hill Baptist Church, along with a guest choir. The afternoon service will be at 3 with the Rev. Dr. Ivory E. Swann, pastor of Second MB Church, along with the SMBC Mass Choir. Lunch will be served after the morning service. Green’s Chapel FWB Church will have a pre-homecoming service Sunday at 4 p.m. Elder Timothy Thomas, along with his congregation and choirs from Dunn Chapel and Sampson Chapel, will be there for the service.
