Gospel Sing Dinner Buffet Set
There will be a gospel sing dinner buffet tonight at Crossroads Community Church fellowship hall in Carthage. Dinner, consisting of spaghetti and Virginia-baked ham with a salad bar and trimmings, will be at 6 p.m. The gospel sing, featuring The Jacobs Family from High Point, will begin at 7 p.m. To purchase tickets in advance, call (910) 949-3971, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets will also be available at the door. Coats Baptist Church will host its 2008 Fall Women’s Retreat on Sept. 6 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The conference theme is “With All My Heart…” and Rachael Carman of RDC Ministries will return as the speaker.
Mrs. Carman and her husband, Davis, live in Charlotte and have seven children. Mrs. Carman was a high school teacher in the public school system until their children were born. She has been speaking at women’s ministry events since 1990. God has opened doors for Mrs. Carman to speak at women’s conferences and home school conferences throughout the United States. Rozlyn Williams Crowned At Conventio
Rozlyn Williams represented Sampson Chapel FWB Church, Dunn, at the Young People’s Christian League Convention held at the Cape Fear ‘A’ Conference Headquaters in Erwin. She was crowned queen of the convention. Rozlyn is a rising sixth-grader at Midway Middle School in Sampson County. She also serves as a junior usher and sings in the Youth Choir at Sampson Chapel. Her parents are Ryanal and Barbara Williams of Autryville. Elder Timothy Thomas is the pastor of Sampson Chapel.
